Another Book

A small case-bound notebook, around 120 pages, covered with bookcloth I made over the holidays.

Getting the pattern to align properly on the spine was a headache, but worth it. It gives a very crisp result. Unfortunatley, much of the bookcloth will go to waste because of how the pattern is deformed while drying. Next time I’ll try skrinking the fabric in hot water before backing it.

The insides of the covers are decorated with some marbled paper I made with my monsters. The paper is 60lb sketching paper, sprayed with an alum solution and taped to a board to dry to minimize curling. This treatment is time-consuming but needed to get good colour saturation, to make them pop.
